We had seven former Tiny Tims at the Goodman tonight for our tree lighting. My picture is featured on Fox!
I have been playing with a few new/different formats for portraying my photography: gallery and slideshow. Let me know which you prefer! (The layout is general used in later pages 2016-2017/2017-2018)
I've been working on updating and organizing my website for the past couple of days. If you haven't noticed, I now have my domain! I ordered my business cards from Vistaprint. The next few months I'll be sorting everything so that my website is clean and easy to use.
I am taking classes at SAIC to receive a certificate in Interior Design, I think I'll have this finished by summer 2019! I'm still not sure where I want my career to take me but I would like it to be in design.
I have been working at the Goodman and for Broadway in Chicago for about a month now. Obviously my interview for the Goodman went well. :) I am the Publicity intern, I do a lot of research into archives of photos and information. My ongoing project has been collecting Tiny Tim photos and contact information for the 40th anniversary of A Christmas Carol. Ushering for BIC is going well too, I work 2-4 shows a week that are matinee or evening shows. I've been talking to and making a lot of new friends, a lot of them are from Columbia College Chicago.
I have graduated! I have been applying to jobs and internships for the past few months. I have an interview with the Goodman in one minute!!!
2016 was a pretty good year for my art. I grew a lot and realized my true passion for design. I am thinking about possibly doing museum exhibit design. I am using winter break to look up schools, classes, internships, and jobs in this field. It's exciting and scary. Two more terms until I'm in the real world!
This term I took the analog photography class. It's really fun to make pictures in the dark room and listen to audiobooks while I work. I am preparing for my final portfolio where we need 10 prints, so far I have half of them and will be printing more tomorrow and possible Monday.
Costume Design is going well, it's a lot of fun! Our midterm project was 10 designs for The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde (photos to come, check out some on Instagram @murpthart). My final is 10 plates for Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike by Christopher Durang.
It's been a busy few months! I was in The Secret in the Wings as The Princess Who Wouldn't Laugh, Louis and ensemble. Spring term I directed a student written show for the New Plays Festival II called Red Wolf. This summer I The Improv Retreat in Wisconsin and I went to iO for a two week advanced intensive. Now I am directing a student written show called A Matter of Life (and Maybe Death).
I will have some tidbits here time to time regarding my art.
