The Den Theatre 2019

Picture
I drilled each hole for the bulbs in the arch. I assisted in assembling and giving the back wall a clear coat. I helped paint the trim, put up the arches and assemble the floor. I also helped wire and assemble the chandeliers.

Using a circular saw, I cut the wedges then using a jigsaw and sanding, I cut the wedges to fit a particular spot in our circle. None of the wedges were the same!

The Adventures of Augie March - Carpentry
Picture
After cutting the pipes and squares to the correct size and length, I drilled the holes with a drill press. Next step, I needed to figure out how to hold the pieces together while my coworker welded...
Picture
I designed this and made a couple prototypes and finally came up with the ply structure in the next image.
Picture
My coworker was able to use what I created with wood glue, staples and plywood and weld the two pieces together.
Picture
We built several of these hanging walls with steel, luan and MBF. The CNC machine cut the MBF, my coworker and I attached it to the luan with wood glue and brads.
For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide (When the Rainbow is Enuf) - Carpentry
Picture
We spent 5 weeks, full time building these set with just a handful of carpenters.
Picture
We had to make sure each stone was only ½" apart, we used small pieces of plywood to make everything equal. The 'stones' were attached with wood glue and Brads.
Picture
The shapes were created by our TD using a CNC machine and then we put the pieces together with plywood and added the bricks. The bricks were cardboard, we used a jigsaw and router to get the correct shapes.
Picture
Time to get in the space! We had about a week to take down the previous set and put ours in. You can see all of the platforms we built in the back.
Picture
I was able to see the show and snap a photo of the completed set. Most of it was made with foam, wood, nails and glue. The painters did an amazing job to make our set look real!

Picture
The near complete staircase built with 2 x and ply.
2017 - Richard III - Carpentry & Scenic Painting
Picture
I worked on the construction of Richard III for 7 weeks. I used our table saw, chop saw and other tools to create this raked stage.
Picture
This cool painting technique was made by flicking rags on the floor with watered down paint. Some colors included: black, maroon, white and rust.
